R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Brandon Kirkpatrick has been named valedictorian of the Class of 2006 at Grand Saline High School in Grand Saline, and for achieving this significant honor, he indeed merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and preparation are myriad; and WHEREAS, In addition to being recognized as the highest achieving student in his class, Mr. Kirkpatrick has been named Grand Saline Chamber of Commerce Male Student of the Year and an All American Scholar in Mathematics; he is an All East Texas Academic Team member and, with 30 hours of college credit, he is also well on his way toward his bachelor's degree; and WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Mr. Kirkpatrick has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates at Grand Saline High School, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have surely opened the way to limitless opportunities for this notable young Texan; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Brandon Kirkpatrick on being named valedictorian of the 2006 graduating class of Grand Saline High School and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Kirkpatrick as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
