R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Texas Woman's University has won the 2006 USA
Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship, capturing the
school's eighth national gymnastics title; and
WHEREAS, The Pioneers posted a 192.425 point total to claim
the title, topping a talented field of competitors that included
the University of California-Davis, Cornell University, and the
College of William and Mary; and
WHEREAS, Led by head coach Frank Kudlac, the team
demonstrated excellence in an array of events, including balance
beam, uneven parallel bars, vault, and floor exercise; the victory
was a total team effort, paced by Bethany Rehm's 9.775, the meet's
top score; and
WHEREAS, Winning a national championship represents the
culmination of a lifetime of hard work and dedication, and the
members of the Texas Woman's University gymnastics team will
undoubtedly enjoy the memory of this victory for years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Coach Frank
Kudlac and the Texas Woman's University Pioneers on winning the
2006 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship and extend
best wishes to the many individuals who contributed to this
noteworthy achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Texas Woman's University as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
