R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The year 2006 marks the 50th anniversary of Bill 
Utter Ford in Denton, providing an ideal time to recognize this 
longstanding business and the Utter family for their service to 
their community; and
	WHEREAS, Founded in 1956 by Bill Utter, Sr., the dealership 
has thrived throughout the past five decades and earned the loyalty 
of countless Denton residents with its outstanding service; in 
addition to employing more than 100 area Texans, the company has 
given generously to community organizations and won numerous local 
awards as well as the Ford President's Award, the Ford Motor 
Company's highest honor; and
	WHEREAS, In addition, Mr. Utter and his son, Bill Utter, Jr., 
have served in important leadership positions in civic groups, 
including the Denton Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of 
Denton County; and
	WHEREAS, The well-being of the people of Texas depends on 
economic prosperity throughout the state, and independent 
businesses such as Bill Utter Ford that employ Texans and 
contribute to the local economy are important components of a 
healthy economy and a prosperous future; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Utter 
family on their many years of service to the Denton community and 
congratulate them on the 50th anniversary of Bill Utter Ford; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the company as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
