R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Kerrville businessman A. E. Martens was awarded a 
2005 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal by the National Republican 
Congressional Committee; and
	WHEREAS, This honor recognizes business leaders who provide 
support to the Republican party and demonstrate a commitment to 
President Reagan's vision of an entrepreneurial America; 
recipients offer consultation to the NRCC on economic and tax 
issues and ways to build conservative initiatives in the community; 
and
	WHEREAS, A lifelong conservative, "Bud" Martens is a 50-year 
veteran of the oil and gas industry and the chairman of Capital 
Exploration, Inc., a privately owned firm with current well 
projects throughout Texas and in Louisiana; he previously operated 
his business from San Antonio and Dallas before moving to Kerrville 
four years ago; and
	WHEREAS, Bud Martens is a valued asset to the Republican 
party and to the Central Texas business community, and he may take 
justifiable pride in this recent recognition and in his many 
professional successes; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate A. E. Martens 
on winning a 2005 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal and extend to 
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Martens as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
