R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Susan Hill has been nominated for the superintendent's Coin of Excellence award in recognition of her many years of support for Socorro Independent School District, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to honor her; and WHEREAS, The mother of two Montwood High School graduates, Mrs. Hill has been active with the district since 1989, undertaking myriad leadership roles on the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and her efforts in behalf of the district continue to benefit students and faculty alike; and WHEREAS, In addition to volunteering her time and energy at O'Shea Keleber Elementary School, William D. Slider Middle School, and Montwood High School, Mrs. Hill has served on numerous district committees, including the SISD Citizen Oversight Committee, the Facilities Advisory Committee, and the SISD Parent Involvement Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, A recent recipient of the Texas State Board of Education's Heroes for Children Award, Mrs. Hill has served as a judge for a variety of events and contests, ranging from homecoming celebrations and pep rallies to selection of the district's "Teacher of the Year"; moreover, she has served on the SISD Health Advisory Council, the SISD Volunteer Advisory Council, the Dr. Jerry Barber Scholarship Selection Committee, and as vice president of the SISD Foundation Excellence in Education Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, Through her continued investment in the success of Socorro ISD, Susan Hill has gained the lasting respect and admiration of her friends and fellow volunteers in the community, and her admirable efforts have helped create a vibrant educational environment for the young people of Socorro ISD; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Susan Hill on her nomination for the superintendent's Coin of Excellence award for her longtime service in support of Socorro Independent School District; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
