R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A loving circle of family and friends will long
cherish their memories of Bertha Ellen Cramer of Mineola, who
passed away on March 2, 2006, at the age of 101; and
WHEREAS, Born on July 5, 1904, this native Texan lived most of
her long, fruitful life in Wood County; she was the heart of her
large family, and her loving nature brightened the lives of many
during her years on this earth; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cramer was a talented musician; she used her
gift to uplift others, touring nursing homes throughout the Lone
Star State as a member of The Grannies and serving as the official
pianist for the Veterans of World War I Auxiliary; and
WHEREAS, Beloved by many, Bertha Cramer will be remembered
with admiration and affection by all those who were fortunate to
know her, and her generous spirit will continue to inspire others
for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Bertha Ellen Cramer and extend deepest sympathy to her family: to
her daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Shields; to her granddaughters and
their husbands, Ann and Buddy Wright, Ellen and John McStay, and
Rhonda and Terry Kenyon; to her four great-granddaughters, Myka,
Jamie, Dee, and Brooke; to her four great-grandsons, Judge,
Russell, Matt, and Zach; to her great-great-granddaughter, Macey;
to her great-great-grandsons, Patrick, Brian, Cole, Dutch, Cash,
Alex, and Evan; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bertha
Ellen Cramer.
