R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Young people are the Lone Star State's most precious
resource, and the dedicated professionals entrusted with their care
are indeed deserving of profound gratitude; and
WHEREAS, Esther Franz Rodriguez of the Rio Grande Valley is
one such individual, and her commitment to the well-being of our
state's young residents is exemplified in the day care she founded,
Sunshine Academy; and
WHEREAS, Enrolling children of all ages, the development
center offers a cozy, comforting environment, and the academy's
carefully crafted curriculum helps to ensure that the individual
needs of each pupil are met; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Rodriguez has drawn on her experience with the
city, state, and federal government to provide quality child care
to more than 100 families throughout McAllen, Pharr, San Juan,
Edinburg, and Mission; in addition, her school has employed more
than 40 area residents; and
WHEREAS, Because the effects of their interactions with the
children in their care extend far into the future, teachers and
child care workers are among our most influential citizens, and
their difficult but rewarding work benefits the entire community;
and
WHEREAS, The contributions of Esther Rodriguez are an
inspiration to all who are privileged to know her, and her efforts
have made a positive difference in the lives of countless Texans;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Esther Franz
Rodriguez for her contributions to the citizens of the Rio Grande
Valley and extend to her best wishes for continued success; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
