R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Amica Linda E. Holmes is a woman of rare dedication 
who has long played an active role in making her community a better 
place in which to live, work, and raise a family; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Holmes has been a member of Zeta Amicae of 
Houston for 10 years, and during that time she has distinguished 
herself in the positions of recording secretary, financial 
secretary, and treasurer at the local level, and as regional 
recording secretary, chairman of the Z-Hope committee, and the 
first Amica Southern Regional President from Texas; and
	WHEREAS, In 2005, her many contributions earned her the 
Lullelia Walker Harrison Dove Award from the Lambda Zeta Chapter; 
and
	WHEREAS, A graduate of Durham Business College, Ms. Holmes 
has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years; she is a valued 
member of New Light Christian Center Church and has been state 
supervisor for Texas Church Ushers' Youth and Young People; and
	WHEREAS, This devoted mother of two and grandmother of three 
has generously given of her time and talents to benefit others, and 
her efforts are truly worthy of special recognition; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Linda E. Holmes for 
her contributions to Zeta Amicae and extend to her best wishes for 
the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Holmes as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
