R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Bennye Carol Frazier of San Antonio, who passed away on April 10, 2006; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Incarnate Word College, Mrs. Frazier earned her master's degree in educational psychology and counseling at The University of Texas at San Antonio and went on to have a notable career teaching coordinated vocational academic education cooperative, a course designed for at-risk students; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Frazier was a tireless advocate for the members of her profession; she served two terms as president of the San Antonio Teachers Council and earned the distinction of becoming the first female president of the Texas Industrial Vocational Association; and WHEREAS, This dynamic woman was also deeply committed to civic causes and held leadership roles in numerous organizations that reflected her diverse interests, including the San Antonio Calligraphers Guild, the Harp and Shamrock Society, and the San Antonio Archives Association; and WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Frazier was supported by a large and loving family; she shared half a century with her husband, Tom, and was the proud mother of four children; and WHEREAS, Bennye Frazier brought enthusiasm, compassion, and commitment to every facet of her life, and, although she is gone from us now, her memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched during her years on this earth; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bennye Carol Frazier and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Tom Frazier; to her sons, Ricks Frazier and his wife, Rita, and Joe Frazier and his wife, Mia; to her daughters, Julie Alexander and her husband, Ron, and Erin Burnett and her husband, Wayne; to her grandchildren, Nicholas Frazier, Kevin Frazier, Justin and Meaghan Alexander, Stephanie and Amanda Anderson, Kirstin Burnett, and Matthew, Kamala, and Kameryn Frazier; to her great-grandson, Hunter Wilson Meadows; to her brother, Howard Bennett Edgeworth, Jr., and his wife, Katy; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bennye Carol Frazier.
