                                                                  H.R. No. 278



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Miss San Antonio USA and Miss San Antonio Teen 
USA pageants have long provided participants with the opportunity 
to gain poise, confidence, and life lessons that will benefit them 
for years to come; and
	WHEREAS, Produced by Diverse Dreams, L.L.C., the 
competitions draw participants from counties across South Central 
Texas; contestants are scored on the basis of three categories: 
interview, physical fitness in swimsuit, and evening gown; and
	WHEREAS, Once named, the winners of the Miss San Antonio USA 
and Miss San Antonio Teen USA pageants go on to compete for the 
coveted state titles in the Miss Texas USA and Miss Texas Teen USA 
pageants; and
	WHEREAS, The Miss San Antonio USA and Miss San Antonio Teen 
USA pageants provide young Texans with an important avenue by which 
to increase their self-confidence and to further their education by 
earning scholarship money, and these endeavors are truly worthy of 
special recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby recognize the Miss San 
Antonio USA and Miss San Antonio Teen USA pageants for the 
opportunities they provide to young women of the Lone Star State and 
extend to all those associated with the organization sincere best 
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the pageant organizers as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
