R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Andrea Ellen McKnight of Sherman on June 29, 2005, at the age of 46, brought a profoundly felt loss to her family and many friends; and WHEREAS, Born to Andrew and Nancy Hunger in Refugio on March 27, 1959, Mrs. McKnight attended Stephen F. Austin University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in television and radio communications and journalism; she served as the district office manager for U.S. Congressman Charles Wilson in Lufkin and later as the assistant public relations director at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana; and WHEREAS, She married Irby McKnight in 1980, and this devoted couple shared 24 years of happiness together as well as a deep religious conviction and a desire to share their faith with others; they served as youth ministers at the Northside Assembly of God in Texarkana and as associate pastors at Christian Life Cathedral in Dallas; in 1991, they moved to Sherman to become pastors of Harvest Time Assembly of God Church, and Mrs. McKnight drew immense joy from watching the church grow in strength during her 14 years of dedicated service there; and WHEREAS, Although her life ended far too soon, Andrea McKnight will long be remembered for her kindness and warmth and for the spiritual guidance that she so generously offered to all those fortunate enough to have known her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Andrea Ellen McKnight and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband of 24 years, Irby McKnight; to her children, Jordan Andrew and Erin Kathleen McKnight; to her parents, Andrew and Nancy Hunger; to her brother, Drew Hunger, and his wife, Tracie; to her nephews, Stratton and Callen Hunger; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Andrea McKnight.
