H.R. No. 345



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, March 15, 2006, was indeed a memorable milestone for 
Vernell Taylor Shorter of Dallas, for it marked the happy occasion 
of this remarkable Texan's 75th birthday; and
	WHEREAS, Born March 15, 1931, in Penelope, Ms. Shorter has 
seen her own story play out against the backdrop of a uniquely 
eventful period in history; and
	WHEREAS, Having met the challenges of life with grace and 
grit, Ms. Shorter may take great satisfaction in her many triumphs 
and accomplishments over the course of three quarters of a century; 
and
	WHEREAS, In celebrating Ms. Shorter's birthday, her friends 
and admirers pay tribute to her unique and irreplaceable spirit and 
reaffirm her profound importance in their lives; now, therefore, be 
it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Vernell 
Taylor Shorter on her 75th birthday and extend to her sincere best 
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Shorter as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
