R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Hector M. Vasquez, Jr., of El Paso has earned a 2006 
Gus and Goldie Youth Appreciation Award; and
	WHEREAS, Sponsored by the City Parks and Recreation 
Department, the honors are bestowed on children who have lent a hand 
to their peers; for their efforts, winning students are treated to 
ice cream and receive passes to the Vitalis Sun Bowl game; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Vasquez, a student at Our Lady of Assumption 
School, has proven himself to be a truly deserving recipient of the 
Youth Appreciation Award; known for his compassion, he has 
demonstrated concern for the well-being of his classmates and 
teachers alike; and
	WHEREAS, Those who endeavor to help others, no matter how 
young or old, are making a measurable difference in the lives of 
their fellow citizens, and it is a pleasure to recognize this 
outstanding Texan for his contributions; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Hector M. 
Vasquez, Jr., on his receipt of a 2006 Gus and Goldie Youth 
Appreciation Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for the 
future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Vasquez as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
