R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ignacio Madera, Jr., has served the Texas Water Development Board with distinction since 1992; and WHEREAS, Mr. Madera has held a number of positions with TWDB; beginning his tenure as an auditor in the Development Fund Manager's Office, he soon became assistant director for administration of the Economically Distressed Areas Program, and later returned to the Development Fund Manager's Office to serve as financial applications manager; and WHEREAS, From September 1997 to May 1998, he worked as assistant director for International Affairs and Program Development in the Border Project Management Division, and was later promoted to the position of director; in this capacity, Mr. Madera helped communities in economically distressed areas on the Texas-Mexico border to access TWDB financial assistance for adequate water and sewer services; and WHEREAS, This notable Texan was named deputy executive administrator for the Office of Project Finance and Construction Assistance in September 2002, and his dedication and skill have made him an invaluable member of that team; and WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Madera is active in his community and has served his fellow residents as both president and trustee of the Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, Ignacio Madera, Jr., has worked diligently in behalf of the people of the Lone Star State, and his commitment to the high principles of TWDB have earned him the respect, admiration, and gratitude of colleagues and citizens alike; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Ignacio Madera, Jr., for his service to the Texas Water Development Board and extend to him best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Madera as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
