R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Lucille Ponzio Parada were
greatly saddened by her passing on March 24, 2006, at the age of 76,
and we join them in mourning her passing; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Parada is remembered for her boundless
compassion and generosity of spirit, and as a woman who brightened
the days of her loved ones throughout the course of her life; she
enjoyed a happy marriage with her husband, Willie Parada, Jr.,
until his death, and together they were blessed with six children,
Hector, Pierre, Bill, Becky, Sandra, and Doreen, in whom Mrs.
Parada took great joy; and
WHEREAS, Her deep faith both sustained her and inspired those
around her, and she was a faithful member of the Catholic Church,
where she enjoyed the fellowship of others; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan lived a full and rewarding life,
and she leaves behind a legacy to treasure for those who held her
dear; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
of Lucille Ponzio Parada and extend sincere sympathy to the members
of her family: to her sons, Hector Parada, Pierre Parada, and Bill
Parada; to her daughters, Becky Martinez, Sandra Parada, and Doreen
Parada; to her grandchildren, Mike, Melissa, and Melinda Martinez,
Brenda and Hector Parada, Arleen, Jeanette, and Raelynn Parada,
Michelle, Michael, and Meagan Franco, and William, Aaron, and
Deanna Parada; to her great-grandchildren, Audrey, Rudy, Loren, and
Dante; to her brothers, Frank Ponzio and Sam Ponzio, Jr.; to her
sisters, Violet Zuniga and Pansy Waller; and to her other relatives
and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lucille
Ponzio Parada.
