H.R. No. 417



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In recognition of his dedication to The Grace Museum 
in Abilene, Jerry Love has been named the Outstanding Museum 
Trustee of 2006 by the Texas Association of Museums; and
	WHEREAS, The Jo Stewart Randel Outstanding Trustee Award 
annually recognizes excellence and distinguished contributions by 
a volunteer trustee to museums in Texas; and
	WHEREAS, A most deserving recipient of this prestigious 
honor, Mr. Love was nominated by The Grace Museum's executive 
director, Judy Godfrey, in recognition of his tireless work in 
behalf of the museum; currently serving as treasurer, Mr. Love has 
served on the museum's board of trustees for 20 years, including 
four terms as president; his vision and leadership helped to ensure 
the museum's creation by recognizing a need in the community and 
promoting the restoration of the historic building housing the 
museum, and he has since continued to support the institution with 
his involvement in capital campaigns and his comprehensive 
understanding of nonprofit budgets; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to his important work with the museum, 
this graduate of Abilene Christian University has distinguished 
himself professionally; the president and CEO of Davis, Kinard &
Co. PC CPAs, he has been a longtime member of the Texas Society of 
Certified Public Accountants, which elected him to serve as its 
2006-2007 chairman; and
	WHEREAS, Throughout all his endeavors, Mr. Love has enjoyed 
the love and support of his wife, Rozlan, and his children, Joshua 
and Ashlee; and
	WHEREAS, Embodying the spirit of volunteerism and community 
service, Jerry Love has assisted in founding and supporting a 
treasured art and cultural institution, and his efforts will 
undoubtedly enrich the lives of area Texans for generations to 
come; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jerry Love on 
being named the Outstanding Museum Trustee of 2006 by the Texas 
Association of Museums and extend to him best wishes for the future; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Love as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
