R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Allison Ann Bucy on April
21, 2006, at the age of 23, has brought a tremendous loss to the
family and friends of this beloved young woman; and
WHEREAS, Born on March 11, 1983, in Houston, Ms. Bucy
graduated in 2001 from Midway High School in Waco, where she was a
nationally ranked high school debater and the UIL State 4-A
champion in cross-examination debate her senior year; and
WHEREAS, She earned a bachelor's degree in government from
The University of Texas in 2005 and became active in Pi Beta Phi
sorority; following college, she lived and worked in Washington,
D.C.; and
WHEREAS, A devoted daughter, granddaughter, sister, and
friend, Allie Bucy was known for her bright smile, her vibrant
personality, and her ability to cherish each day of life; although
she will be sorely missed, the memory of her warmth and strength
will forever occupy a treasured place in the hearts of those who
loved her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Allison Ann Bucy and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
family: to her parents, the Honorable Jim and Carolyn Meyer and
Flynn and Lorraine Bucy; to her siblings, Cole, Jason, Johnny, and
Elizabeth Bucy and Mike and Brady Meyer; to her grandparents, Dr.
James and Helen Cole, Drs. Ralph and June Bucy, Paul and Jane Meyer,
and Walter and Marylu Raushenbush; to her many aunts, uncles, and
cousins; to her special friend, Scott Phillips; and to her other
loved ones; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Allison
Bucy.
