R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Alpine High School Lady Bucks varsity softball
team culminated their stellar 2006 season by clinching the District
1-AA softball championship; and
WHEREAS, Demonstrating the skill and dedication of true
champions, the Lady Bucks soundly defeated the Kermit Lady
Yellowjackets 12-2 in the district final to claim the coveted
championship crown; and
WHEREAS, Contributing to this total team effort were Hannah
Dodson, Leah Ward, Cassie Aguilar, Cariza Mendoza, Anna Lisa
Sandate, Emily Morrow, Daniella Valenzuela, Sable Oliphant, Kassie
Fuller, Morgan Collier, Mary Nunez, LaToya Simples, and Dorothy
Quiroz; these outstanding ballplayers were ably schooled in the
finer points of the game by Coach Scott Lewis, who instilled in his
young charges the values of hard work and good sportsmanship; and
WHEREAS, These exceptional student-athletes are a source of
tremendous pride to their school, their families, and all their
supporters in the community, and the memory of this achievement
will surely remain with them for many years to come; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Alpine
High School Lady Bucks softball team for winning the District 1-AA
championship and extend to the players and Coach Lewis best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
