H.R. No. 433



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Gloria I. Polanco-McNealy, principal of Alicia R. 
Chacon International School in the Ysleta Independent School 
District in El Paso, has been named Principal of the Year by 
Communities In Schools of Texas; and
	WHEREAS, A national program administered in this state by the 
Texas Education Agency, Communities In Schools partners with local 
businesses, social agencies, volunteers, and other community 
resources to help students complete their education and succeed in 
life; and
	WHEREAS, Ms. Polanco-McNealy is one of only 11 people from 
across the state who were presented with a prestigious Best of Texas 
award on April 28, 2006, in honor of outstanding commitment and 
dedication to the CIS program, students, families, schools, and the 
community at large; and
	WHEREAS, Known for offering significant professional 
development for her faculty and for developing creative ways to 
include parents, Gloria Polanco-McNealy has made a positive 
difference in the lives of countless El Paso students and their 
families, and this impressive award rightly acknowledges her 
exemplary achievements; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Gloria I. 
Polanco-McNealy on being named Principal of the Year by Communities 
In Schools of Texas and extend to her best wishes for the future; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Polanco-McNealy as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
