R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jeff Jeter, assistant sergeant-at-arms for the
Texas House of Representatives, celebrated his 30th birthday on May
4, 2006, and this dedicated public servant can truly say he has
given some of the best years of his life to the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Hired by the sergeant-at-arms office at the tender
age of 21, Mr. Jeter has, for the past nine years, been charged with
maintaining order in the hall of the house, a task seldom associated
with the average 20-something; and
WHEREAS, Despite witnessing firsthand the long hours of
numerous legislative sessions, Mr. Jeter, oddly enough, keeps
coming back for more; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jeter is an active volunteer at Town Lake Animal
Shelter and also enjoys gardening, possessing a particular passion
for flowers; this trait was perhaps beneficial in the wooing of his
wife, Amy, whom he met while working in the sergeant-at-arms
office; and
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas House of Representatives are
fortunate to have individuals such as Jeff Jeter working in their
midst, and he is most worthy of special recognition; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jeff Jeter on
the celebration of his 30th birthday and extend best wishes to him
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Jeter as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
