R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, June 3, 2006, will indeed be a special day for John
Kenneth Arnold and Michelle Galindo Cruz, for on that day they will
exchange their wedding vows in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and embark on a
new life together as husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, The impending nuptials of Ms. Cruz and Mr. Arnold
have brought great joy to their parents as well as to the other
members of their close-knit family and circle of friends; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of George and Sylvia Cruz, the bride
received a bachelor of science in communication studies from The
University of Texas at Austin and has also earned a master of public
administration degree from Texas State University and a Ph.D. in
educational policy and planning from The University of Texas at
Austin; she has held a distinguished tenure with State
Representative Aaron Pena, serving as his chief of staff, and
worked as a legislative aide to Representatives Rene Oliveira and
Joe Deshotel; currently, she represents the Texas Education Agency
as a legislative liaison to the Texas House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold, the son of Victor and Nancy Arnold,
received a bachelor's degree in Latin American studies and
political science from Trinity University and a J.D. from Dedman
School of Law at Southern Methodist University; after completing a
judicial clerkship at the Texas Supreme Court, he joined the Austin
office of the Locke Liddell & Sapp law firm; and
WHEREAS, The wedding of Ms. Cruz and Mr. Arnold will mark a
profound deepening of a relationship that has grown in love,
respect, and mutual regard with each passing day; and
WHEREAS, Representative Pena has justly recognized this
devoted couple by authoring this resolution in his behalf during
the 3rd Called Session of the 79th Legislature; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate John Kenneth
Arnold and Michelle Galindo Cruz on the joyous occasion of their
wedding and extend to them warmest best wishes for a lifetime of
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
