R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An 80th birthday is indeed worthy of celebration,
and on March 22, 2006, Alexandra L. Streng of Dallas marked this
significant milestone in her life; and
WHEREAS, A proud resident of Dallas since 1955, Mrs. Streng
raised her two sons on her own, often working multiple jobs in order
to support her family; despite a host of family- and career-related
responsibilities, she carved out time for community endeavors,
volunteering with the PTA groups at her children's schools and
joining the band sponsors and chaperones for the Woodrow Wilson
High School Band; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Mrs. Streng has shared her time as a
poll worker during local elections, and she has also worked with
others to help ensure the health and future success of area
children, many of whom today further contribute to the well-being
of local residents; and
WHEREAS, Her love for the arts has long inspired her to be a
tireless supporter of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Dallas
Arboretum, and the Morton Myerson Symphony Center; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, Sandra Streng has brought great
joy and happiness into the lives of countless individuals with her
love, friendship, and wisdom, and it is a pleasure to salute her on
80 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Sandra Streng
on her 80th birthday and extend to her best wishes for continued
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Streng as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
