H.R. No. 461
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Those young people who give of their time and
talents to assist in the demanding work of the Texas Legislature are
truly deserving of our gratitude and admiration, and Claire Barber
is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, Originally from Houston, Ms. Barber served as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Elliott
Naishtat from January to May 2006, and her efficiency,
intelligence, and winning disposition were much appreciated by her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Barber's expertise in the area of health and
human services was particularly valuable to both Representative
Naishtat's staff and his constituents, and in assisting citizens
with questions relating to these areas, she saw firsthand the
ability of public officials to make a positive difference in
people's lives; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Barber is a graduate student at the School of
Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin, and her hands-on
experience with the workings of state government will no doubt
enrich and inform her experience as a social worker; and
WHEREAS, Although her coworkers are sorry to see her tenure
end, they share her excitement in a future that is bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Claire Barber for her
service as a legislative intern with the Texas House of
Representatives and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Barber as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
