R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Ella Rae Jackowski
were deeply saddened by her passing on January 19, 2006, at the age
of 82, and we join them in mourning her passing; and
WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles
Jackowski, and over the course of his military career the two made
friends in many corners of the world; and
WHEREAS, A welcome presence wherever she went, Mrs. Jackowski
lent her time and energy to a number of organizations, including the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion
Auxiliary, and La Societe de Femme, to which she was awarded
lifetime membership for her distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, She drew great strength and sustenance from the
community of faith at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, and her fellow
congregants there will keenly feel her absence; and
WHEREAS, Although Mrs. Jackowski will long be missed, her
irreplaceable spirit will live on in the memories of all those whose
lives she touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Ella Rae Jackowski and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
family: to her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Edward Marchant;
to her grandchildren, Bridget Marchant, Charles Marchant, Jennifer
Dunkle, and Rebecca Marchant; to her great-grandchildren; and to
her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ella Rae
Jackowski.
