R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Jesus G. "Chuy" Armendariz of Alpine retired from 
his position as a custodian with Sul Ross State University (SRSU) on 
January 31, 2006, bringing to a close a tenure with the school that 
spanned more than three decades; and
	WHEREAS, A native of O'Campo, Coahuila, Mexico, and raised in 
Lajitas, Mr. Armendariz moved to Alpine with his wife, Manuela, in 
1971 and began his employment with SRSU two years later; over the 
ensuing 32 years, Mr. Armendariz worked in several university 
buildings, including the physical plant, the fine arts and science 
facilities, and the Briscoe Administration Building, where he 
served for 24 years; and
	WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Armendariz earned a 
reputation for his work ethic and his cheerful personality, which 
aided him in winning a host of friends, as well as a Bar SR Bar 
Employee Excellence Award; and
	WHEREAS, A valued member of the Alpine community, where he 
has raised his seven children, Chuy Armendariz may look back with 
pride on his years at Sul Ross and know that his presence is 
undoubtedly missed; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jesus G. 
"Chuy" Armendariz on his retirement from Sul Ross State University 
and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Armendariz as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
