R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of
William "Bill" Milton Condra of Kerrville, who passed away on April
21, 2006, at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, Born to Leonard W. and Willie Mai Rucker Condra in
San Antonio on October 3, 1930, this beloved husband and father
attended schools in the Capital City and graduated from Stephen
F. Austin High School in 1948; he then joined Southwestern Bell
Telephone Co., where he worked briefly before enlisting in the
U.S. Air Force to serve his country during the Korean War; and
WHEREAS, Following his honorable discharge from the military
in 1952, Mr. Condra married Lillian Tamsitt and embarked on a varied
and successful career; he returned to Southwestern Bell for an
18-year tenure, leaving the company's Big Spring office in 1969 to
move his family to his beloved Austin; there he worked as a real
estate broker and insurance agent until 1992, when his lifelong
love of golf inspired him to open a golf club repair shop; and
WHEREAS, A Freemason and a valued member of the Masonic
Lodge, Bill Condra will long be remembered for his delightful sense
of humor, his warm and outgoing personality, and his enduring love
of family, friends, and community; although he will be deeply
missed, his legacy will no doubt live on in the hearts of those
whose lives he so richly blessed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
William Milton Condra and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members
of his family: to his wife of 52 years, Lillian Condra; to his
sisters, Mattie Lynn Clark and Irene Bouchard; to his sons and
daughters-in-law, Guy and Lisa Condra and Phil and Sally Condra; to
his grandchildren, Christi, Marsha and her husband, Nat, Shelly,
Kimberly, Katelyn, Philip, Mary Kate, and Patrick; to his
great-grandchildren, Keith, Addison, and Marisa; and to the other
family members and friends of this esteemed Texan; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William
"Bill" Milton Condra.
