R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Kwara State Association of Nigeria, North 
America, is hosting its national convention in Houston on June 23 
and 24, 2006; and
	WHEREAS, Organized as a summit for Kwarans to meet and 
discuss the development of Kwara State and its relationship to the 
United States, the convention features the theme, "The Impact of 
Infrastructural Development on Agriculture, Education, Energy and 
Health in Kwara State"; and
	WHEREAS, The Kwara State Association of Nigeria, North 
America, is a nonprofit organization with a primary mission to 
promote the image and well-being of Kwarans, friends of Kwarans, 
and Nigerians residing in North America; it is working to encourage 
the development of partnerships and business relations between 
Kwara State and entities in the United States and Texas, and this 
initiative will undoubtedly further that worthwhile goal; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby recognize the national 
convention of the Kwara State Association of Nigeria, North 
America, and extend best wishes to the convention's participants 
for a successful and memorable event; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
