H.R. No. 524


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Tom Jones of Fort Worth has distinguished himself as an asset to the electrical industry, to his community, and to the State of Texas; and WHEREAS, The executive director of the Independent Electrical Contractors Fort Worth/Tarrant County Chapter since 1977, Mr. Jones was instrumental in the creation of the state organization, serving as its executive director from 1977 to 1998; and WHEREAS, For almost three decades, he has represented the interests of electrical contractors, electricians, and the electrical construction industry and has shared his expertise with the legislature regarding such measures as the Texas Electrical Safety and Licensing Act in 2003; and WHEREAS, Mr. Jones is also a strong advocate of professional apprenticeship and training programs, and since 1998 he has served on the Apprenticeship and Training Advisory Committee of the Texas Council on Workforce and Economic Competitiveness; and WHEREAS, A Mason, a life member and former president of Moslah Shrine Patrol, and an active member of the Fort Worth Jaycees, Mr. Jones gives generously of his time and talent in behalf of the greater good as a caring volunteer in his community; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he enjoys the support of his family, including his wife, Diana; his sons, Jeff and Jim; his stepson, Brian; and his grandchildren, Dylan and Aaron; and WHEREAS, Tom Jones has earned the lasting admiration of his peers for the positive impact he made through his professional and civic endeavors; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Tom Jones of Fort Worth for his many contributions to his community; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
