R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, After 38 years of service to Southwest Texas Junior 
College, Tom Schliesing of Uvalde has retired as head of student 
services and recruitment for the college; and
	WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan earned a bachelor's degree from 
Southwest Texas State University and a master's degree from Texas 
Tech University; he began his career with SWTJC as an instructor in 
the college's farm and ranch management program and taught for many 
years before moving into administration; and
	WHEREAS, For nearly four decades, Mr. Schliesing has served 
students of SWTJC with integrity and dedication, and it is a 
pleasure to recognize him for his exemplary tenure as he embarks on 
an exciting new chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Tom 
Schliesing on the occasion of his retirement as head of student 
services and recruitment at Southwest Texas Junior College and 
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be 
it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Schliesing as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
