R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, It is with great sorrow that the Texas House of
Representatives notes the passing of an outstanding Texas
Department of Transportation employee, Sean Anselm Hayes of Cedar
Park, who passed away at the age of 49 on January 15, 2006; and
WHEREAS, The members of this chamber wish to join his family,
friends, and fellow workers in mourning the loss of this remarkable
Texan who dedicated his life to his family and career; and
WHEREAS, An esteemed and hardworking member of the Georgetown
area office of TxDOT, Mr. Hayes was born in Chicago and was an avid
fan of the Chicago Cubs baseball team and all things associated with
the Texas Longhorns; and
WHEREAS, He was an enthusiastic referee of football,
basketball, and baseball and an avid supporter of children's
athletics through the Texas Parks and Recreation Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Before joining TxDOT, Mr. Hayes had a distinguished
20-year military career as a highly respected non-commissioned
officer in the United States Army, receiving numerous commendations
and medals; and
WHEREAS, His hard work and ability were rewarded over the
course of his 11-year tenure at TxDOT, where he began as an
engineering technician III and was promoted to the position of
engineering specialist; and
WHEREAS, With a much appreciated sense of humor, Sean Hayes
was a good friend and a devoted husband and father who will be
remembered as a man of honor and integrity and will be deeply
missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Sean Hayes and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:
to his wife, Robin Hayes; to his daughters, Jessica and Amanda; and
to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sean Anselm
Hayes.
