R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, May 10, 2006, is a special day indeed for the many 
friends and admirers of Epitacia Yanez of Donna, for it marks this 
noteworthy Texan's 105th birthday; and
	WHEREAS, Born May 10, 1901, in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico, 
Mrs. Yanez moved to Texas with her parents, Epitacio Martinez and 
Monica Reyna, and her eight brothers and sisters when she was 17 
years old; and
	WHEREAS, The following year she married Mariano Yanez, and 
over the years their family of eight children has grown to include 
38 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 48 
great-great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Her family and friends count themselves fortunate to 
know Mrs. Yanez, and she is both an inspiring presence and a vital 
living link to our shared history; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Epitacia Yanez on the 
occasion of her 105th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes 
for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mrs. Yanez as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
