R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ryan Thomas Bridges of Houston has earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, and this noteworthy achievement truly merits special legislative recognition; and WHEREAS, In the course of completing the program's demanding requirements, Eagle Scout Bridges has shown great judgment, initiative, and commitment, traits that will serve him well as he faces the myriad challenges of the future; and WHEREAS, The son of Liz and Tommy Bridges, Mr. Bridges is a valued member of Troop No. 747, which he has served as patrol leader, librarian, and troop guide; in addition, this Order of the Arrow member has garnered 21 merit badges in a host of diverse areas and has also demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities as evidenced by the completion of his Eagle Scout project, the collection of more than 2,200 nonperishable food items and articles of clothing for Mission Yahweh, a local women's shelter; and WHEREAS, This well-rounded young Texan is a junior at Spring Woods High School, where he is a peer mentor and is active in the Spring Woods High School Marching and Symphonic Band and Thespian Troupe 127; moreover, he is a member of Spring Woods Baptist Church and has served his congregation as the lead guitarist in a youth band and by leading a monthly youth program; and WHEREAS, Few are able to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and through his resolute dedication to the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America, Ryan Bridges has deservedly earned his place among scouting's elite; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Ryan Thomas Bridges on his receipt of the Eagle Scout insignia and extend to him best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Bridges as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
