R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Casey Heath Kelley has served with distinction in
both the district office as well as the State Capitol office of
State Representative Bob Hunter; and
WHEREAS, He became the legislative aide of Representative
Hunter in July 2002 in the district office and was later promoted to
serve as the district coordinator; and
WHEREAS, In January 2004 Mr. Kelley moved to Austin to serve
as the chief of staff for Representative Hunter and accomplished
outstanding legislative work advancing the renewable energy goals
of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley graduated from Abilene Christian
University in 2003, majoring in human communications with minors in
political science and business administration; and
WHEREAS, He was very involved in student government and the
Agriculture Club, and he reorganized the ACU College Republicans
and served as president on two occasions; and
WHEREAS, As a college student, he founded and managed a
successful landscaping company called Heath Enterprises, selling
the company in 2002; and
WHEREAS, While in college Casey worked in the office of
Career Counseling and Testing and the dental offices of Dr. Jane
Estes Tindol; and
WHEREAS, Casey Kelley became well known in college by playing
guitar and singing in the musical duet "Casey & Casey," and he
continues to perform music even today; and
WHEREAS, He was born to Amanda Headrick and Steven Lewis
Kelley on December 10, 1980, grew up in Abilene, received his
Abilene High School diploma in 1999 after serving in various
organizations, including the Student Council, Band, Choir, and Pure
Gold, and played on a variety of athletic teams; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley was only recently named director of
government affairs for ORYXE Energy International as a result of
his dedicated legislative efforts and accomplishments in the public
policy of state government; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Casey Kelley
on his multiple achievements and bright future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Casey Kelley, his parents, and his grandparents,
Dr. and Mrs. Ed Headrick and Mrs. Loreta Kelley of Abilene, as well
as his two brothers, Chad Headrick Kelley and Clay Harding Kelley.
