R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Eleanor D'Ambrosio and Jeff Hewitt of Austin are
exchanging their wedding vows on May 13, 2006, to the delight of all
who know them; and
WHEREAS, A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Ms. D'Ambrosio
earned a bachelor's degree in public policy at Brown University,
where, as coxswain, she steered her rowing team to two NCAA national
championships; in the natural course of things, she was soon honing
her skills in the political arena; and
WHEREAS, She met her future husband in 2002, when both were
working on an election campaign; the pair worked together again the
following year on a campaign in Mississippi, and Ms. D'Ambrosio
subsequently joined Mr. Hewitt's new consulting firm in Austin; in
2005, she became State Representative Mark Strama's first
legislative director, and she presently serves as chief of staff
for State Representative Donna Howard; and
WHEREAS, Born in Ohio, Mr. Hewitt attended Ohio State
University and, at the age of 20, became one of the youngest paid
staffers on the 1992 Clinton-Gore advance team; he spent 1993-1995
as a finance director for Cunningham-Plante & Associates, working
on statewide, municipal, and legislative campaigns along the East
Coast, and then joined The Campaign Group as a campaign manager and
associate consultant; in 1998, he founded his own consultancy; and
WHEREAS, Since moving to Austin, Mr. Hewitt has continued to
prove himself a talented professional; he has recently joined Kelly
Fero in establishing a new firm, Fero Hewitt Global; and
WHEREAS, Eleanor D'Ambrosio and Jeff Hewitt have found in
each other a true friend and partner, and it is a pleasure to honor
this notable couple as they embark on their new life as husband and
wife; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby warmly congratulate
Eleanor D'Ambrosio and Jeff Hewitt on the joyful occasion of their
marriage and extend to them sincere best wishes for much happiness
in the years to come; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. D'Ambrosio and Mr. Hewitt as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
