R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, More than 5,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiasts from across the State of Texas are gathering in Abilene for the Harley Owners Group State Rally on May 18-20, 2006; and WHEREAS, Organized in part by Steve Hood, sales manager for Kent's Harley Davidson, Nanci Liles, executive director of the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Kevin McDaniel, rally coordinator, this notable event will surely be one of the most exciting events to ever descend on the town often called the "Friendly Frontier"; and WHEREAS, The mayor of Abilene, Dr. Norman Archibald, has geared up for the rally, training to become an expert Harley HOG so that he may showcase his new skills in the convention parade; and WHEREAS, Motorcycle enthusiasts are known for their adventurous spirit and love for the freedom of the road, and it is a pleasure to salute them and the city of Abilene for keeping this spirit alive; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2006 Harley Owners Group State Rally in Abilene and extend to all who attend sincere best wishes for a memorable event.
