R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Providence Health Center in Waco has been named a 
Top 100 Hospital in the 2005 Solucient National Benchmarks for 
Success study; and
	WHEREAS, Founded in 1905 with the sponsorship of the 
Daughters of Charity, the center was named for the belief that 
"providence would provide" as the Daughters sought funding for the 
new hospital; today, the 170-bed facility is part of the Providence 
Healthcare Network, which also includes Providence Home Care, the 
De Paul Center, Providence Park, the Providence Foundation, 
Providence Health Alliance, and seven Providence clinics; and
	WHEREAS, The Solucient study evaluates hospitals on 
clinical, operational, and financial performance in overall 
service, and organizes superior hospitals in categories according 
to their size; three times previously, Solucient has named 
Providence Health Center a Top 100 Heart Hospital, and HealthGrades 
recognized it for its orthopedic services and attention to patient 
safety; and
	WHEREAS, For more than a century, Providence Health Center 
has provided exceptional medical care to members of the Waco 
community, and its placement in the Top 100 Hospitals justly honors 
its outstanding record of service; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Providence 
Health Center on its selection as a Top 100 Hospital in the 2005 
Solucient National Benchmarks for Success study and extend to its 
administrators and medical staff best wishes for the future; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
