R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Brothers Sid and Richard Hooper of Sul Ross State 
University have provided stellar performances on the basketball 
court, making themselves valuable assets to the Lobo squad; and
	WHEREAS, Known for his superb perimeter shooting, Sid has 
drilled long shots for the Lobos for the past four seasons, greatly 
contributing to the team's appearances in the postseason men's 
basketball tournament each of those years; as a result of his 
dedication and hard work, Sid won the ASC scoring title, averaging 
22.4 points per game, and was named 2005-2006 Athlete of the Year at 
the SRSU athletic banquet; and
	WHEREAS, Freshman brother Richard is also an outstanding   
shooter who sank a three-pointer at the buzzer to supply the winning 
points in a 107-106 victory over McMurry on January 14, 2006, at the 
Gallego Center; and
	WHEREAS, Reflecting countless hours of hard work and 
dedication, the success of these two basketball players is  a source 
of tremendous pride to their family, the faculty and staff of Sul 
Ross State University, and all of their supporters in the 
community; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Sid and Richard 
Hooper on their excellence on the hardwood and extend to them best 
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Sid and Richard Hooper as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
