H.R. No. 760
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Those Texans who live for a century or longer are
among the Lone Star State's most valuable resources, and their
wisdom and experience immeasurably enrich the lives of their fellow
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Cora Holland is one such individual, and she was
honored at the 9th Annual Centenarian Program held at the Marble
Arch in Mercedes, an event that was organized by the Social Security
Administration and the Area Agency on Aging; and
WHEREAS, Born November 5, 1905, in South Carolina, Mrs.
Holland first came to Donna in 1919; she married Clifford M. Holland
and was a teacher at Runn Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, In celebrating men and women whose lives span 100
years or more, we pay tribute to an inspiring group of senior
citizens and their vital connection to our shared history; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Cora Holland
as an honoree of the 9th Annual Centenarian Program and extend to
her sincere best wishes; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Holland as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
