R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Anthony Murdock is being honored by his alma mater, 
Phillis Wheatley High School, with a 2006 Phillis Wheatley Award on 
May 20; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Murdock has remained a devoted fan of the 
Wildcats in the years since his graduation; he regularly attends 
sporting events and other school functions and donates both time 
and money to ensure the school's continuing success; in 2002, he 
developed a website dedicated to the accomplishments of Wildcat 
athletes; the site serves to recognize these hard-working youths 
for their participation in sports as well as to encourage them to 
maintain their commitment to high school graduation; in addition, 
Mr. Murdock publishes the Wheatley Wildcats High School Magazine, 
further highlighting the school's athletic triumphs; and
	WHEREAS, Phillis Wheatley High School counts among its 
graduates many who have made far-reaching contributions in behalf 
of their fellow citizens, and through his service, Anthony Murdock 
is joining this notable group; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Anthony 
Murdock on his receipt of a 2006 Phillis Wheatley Award and extend 
to him best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Murdock as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
