R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Steven Lewis Kelly, of Abilene, celebrated his 50th birthday on February 8, 2006; and WHEREAS, he was born to Loreta Amber Lewis and V. W. Kelley on February 8, 1956, in San Angelo, Texas, and was the youngest of four children; and WHEREAS, he moved with his family to Abilene in 1959 after the death of his father; and WHEREAS, Steven was educated in the Abilene Independent School system and attended: Taylor Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and Graduated Abilene High School 1974; and WHEREAS, While in school he was a Boy Scout and earned the highest honor of Eagle Scout, played the violin, and participated in church mission trips and church youth group; and WHEREAS, He attended Abilene Christian University beginning in 1974 and completed his duel degree in Business Administration and management and marketing in 1978; and WHEREAS, In the summer of 1976 he married Amanda Sue Headrick; and WHEREAS, He worked for IBM corporation in Abilene and San Angelo, and worked as a manager at Albertson's; and WHEREAS, He went to work for the United States Postal Service in Abilene at the Mail-Processing Center; and WHEREAS, He moved to work for the Postal Service at the Remote and Coding center in Abilene as a supervisor there until its closing; and WHEREAS, He then transferred to the Sweetwater Post Office where he worked as a supervisor for 3 years, and during which time he was trained as a route inspector and began traveling across much of the southwest area performing route inspections for the Postal Services; and WHEREAS, After a couple of Officer in Charge positions, he was chosen to serve as the Postmaster in Ballinger, TX., where he currently works and lives; and WHEREAS, He and his wife Amanda have three son's Casey Heath Kelley, Chad Headrick Kelley, and Clay Harding; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Steven Lewis Kelley on celebrating his 50th Birthday; and be it further RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session recognize that Steven and his wife Amanda will celebrate 30 years of marriage in July 10, 2006; and be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Steven Kelley.
