R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Charles E. Amato has been inducted into the 2006 San
Antonio Business Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Business Hall of Fame recognizes
outstanding Alamo City industry leaders whose entrepreneurial
drive and personal integrity are a model for all Texans and whose
achievements have contributed to the economic vitality of the Lone
Star State; and
WHEREAS, A deserving inductee, Mr. Amato is the chairman and
cofounder of Southwest Business Corporation; this burgeoning Texas
company, established in 1976, provides insurance and financial
services to more than 1,000 institutions and corporations across
the country; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Amato graduated from Sam Houston State
University in 1970, and over the years he has dedicated his talents
to a number of institutions of higher learning, serving as chairman
of The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business
advisory council and the Sam Houston State University School of
Business advisory council, as a board trustee of the University of
the Incarnate Word, and as a member of The University of Texas at
San Antonio development board; and
WHEREAS, Despite his many responsibilities, this respected
gentleman has consistently found the time to serve his community;
he has held leadership positions with the United Way, American
Heartwalk, Children's Miracle Network, and the Santa Rosa
Children's Hospital Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Committed to the highest standards of his industry
and to making a positive difference in the lives of others, Charles
Amato truly exemplifies the very best of Texas entrepreneurial
leadership; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Charles E.
Amato on his induction into the 2006 San Antonio Business Hall of
Fame and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Amato as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
