R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, After eight years as a member of the Texas Legislature, the Honorable Carlos I. Uresti is relinquishing his seat in the Texas House of Representatives, and this occasion offers a fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed legislator; and WHEREAS, Since joining the house in June 1997, the San Antonio native has demonstrated strong leadership skills on the floor, and currently serves as the chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform and as a member of the Committee on Local Ways and Means; Representative Uresti has previously chaired the Committee on Human Services and served on the House Select Committee on State Health Care Expenditures and the Committees on Public Health, Higher Education, Public Health, Judicial Affairs, and Elections, as well as the County Affairs Subcommittee on Indigent Health Care; and WHEREAS, Representative Uresti remains a committed advocate for his fellow Texans, particularly our state's most vulnerable citizens and our military veterans, and he can look back with pride on his exemplary service as a member of the Texas House of Representatives; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the Honorable Carlos I. Uresti for his notable tenure as a state representative and extend to him sincere appreciation for his commitment to his constituents and the people of Texas; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Representative Uresti as an expression of high regard by his colleagues in the Texas House of Representatives.
