R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, For 13 years, State Representative Elvira Reyna has 
served her constituents in Dallas County with distinction, and it 
is indeed fitting at this time to reflect on her service to the 
State of Texas; and
	WHEREAS, The first Hispanic Republican elected to the House, 
Representative Reyna joined the Legislature in December 1993; 
during her tenure, she has served as a member of the Committees on 
Environmental Regulation; Higher Education; State, Federal and 
International Relations; Public Safety; Juvenile Justice and 
Family Issues; Human Services; and Criminal Jurisprudence; and
	WHEREAS, This esteemed legislator has chaired the Local and 
Consent Calendars Committee since 2003 and was named vice chair of 
the Interim Select Committee on Child Welfare and Foster Care in the 
78th Legislature; and
	WHEREAS, Those Texans who give of themselves to pursue the 
goals of public service on behalf of their fellow citizens are truly 
deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Elvira Reyna for her 
service in the Texas House and extend to her sincere appreciation 
for her efforts on behalf of her constituents and to the people of 
Texas; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Representative Reyna as an expression of high regard 
by her colleagues in the Texas House of Representatives.
