SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the Junior League of Plano on the occasion of its 30th 
anniversary; and
	WHEREAS, Founded in May of 1976 as the Plano Service 
League, the Junior League of Plano is an educational, charitable 
organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, 
developing the potential of women, and improving communities 
through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers;
and
	WHEREAS, This outstanding organization has raised over 
$2.5 million, implemented more than 200 community service projects, 
and donated more than 300,000 hours of volunteer service in 
Collin County; and
	WHEREAS, With more than 900 members, the Junior League
of Plano is presently working on numerous projects throughout 
Collin County, including ArtSmart, Even Start for Success, 
Heritage Farmstead Docents Program, and Plano Community Garden; 
and
	WHEREAS, With its enduring commitment to the betterment
of the community, the Junior League of Plano is truly deserving 
of legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the Junior 
League of Plano for its legacy of community service and congratulate
its members on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
this outstanding organization as an expression of esteem from the 
Texas Senate.
