SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Wrangler Hat Company for its support of Tejano and
Conjunto music in Texas; and
WHEREAS, Under the direction of owner Jerry Cook and with
the help of national representative Reuben Ponce de Leon, the
Wrangler Hat Company has worked to bring this exceptional Texas
music to audiences around the world; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding company has used the input and
imagination of the band members of the Tejano and Conjunto
musical group, Los Texas Wranglers, to create a new line of hats
in recognition of this unique brand of music; and
WHEREAS, Through the years the Wrangler Hat Company has
donated to numerous other worthy causes, including the Travis
High School Pachanga Mariachi Festival, the Catholic War
Veterans Golf Tournament South Austin, the City of Austin's Trail
of Lights, and the League of United Latin American Citizens; the
company is truly deserving of legislative recognition for its
years of service to the community and to the state; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the
Wrangler Hat Company for its commitment to Tejano and Conjunto
music and to the community; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this outstanding company as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
