SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the residents of the Saint John's neighborhood in
Austin on the occasion of their Unity March and Parade on
April 22, 2006; and
WHEREAS, This special event is being held to celebrate
the ethnic diversity of this unique neighborhood and the
determination of its citizens to build a stronger, safer, and
more unified community in which to live and raise families; and
WHEREAS, Local citizens will join representatives from
area schools and churches and from local and state government and
numerous organizations to enjoy school bands, floats, and drill
teams in a display of neighborhood pride and solidarity; and
WHEREAS, The Saint John's Unity March and Parade is an
exemplary way to inspire harmony and fellowship and to showcase
the community's spirit and the strength of its citizens; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the citizens
of the Saint John's neighborhood and extend best wishes to all
who are participating in the Unity March and Parade; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this special occasion.
