SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 41

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the annual West Texas Barbecue Association Championship
Cookoff as a Texas State Championship event; and

	WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and 
over the years, the West Texas Barbecue Association has provided 
the ultimate in this classic Texas fare; and

	WHEREAS, West Texas has long been known as a region of the 
state where barbecue reigns supreme as a culinary delight and 
where gatherings for barbecue bring together family, friends, 
and neighbors; and

	WHEREAS, This year's West Texas Barbecue Association 
Championship Cookoff will be held August 26 in Goldsmith, and the 
winner will be entitled to participate in the Kansas City Royal 
Barbecue; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend best wishes 
to all involved with the West Texas Barbecue Association for an 
enjoyable Championship Cookoff; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
this fine organization as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
