SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 52
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Trinity United Methodist Church of Houston on the
occasion of its Women's Day 2006 celebration; and
WHEREAS, The Women's Day 2006 celebration takes place on
Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14; the theme of the event is "Opening
the Doors to God's Will in Our Lives," and the message will be
given by Reverend Michelle Hall, associate pastor of the First
United Methodist Church Downtown Houston; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, the women of Trinity United
Methodist Church have contributed to the strength, character,
and accomplishments of the Houston community and our state; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Robert McGee,
Trinity United Methodist Church has continued to grow
spiritually and to undertake many worthy projects in the
community; and
WHEREAS, The women of the church have had a significant
role in the success of these projects and have been a source of
inspiration and support to the church and the citizens of
Houston; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor the women of
Trinity United Methodist Church and extend to them best wishes on
the occasion of the Women's Day 2006 celebration; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the church as a memento of this special event.
