SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 64
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Promise House, Incorporated, for its sponsorship of
child abuse prevention in Dallas through its Services To At Risk
Youth "STAR" program; and
WHEREAS, Society has a responsibility to protect children
and help them thrive; the month of April has been named Child
Abuse Prevention Month to underscore our nation's strong
commitment to preventing child abuse and neglect and to help
ensure that all children have the opportunity to grow up in a
safe, nurturing environment; and
WHEREAS, In Dallas, the STAR program of Promise House,
Incorporated, is hosting a "Fun Day" on April 28 to promote child
abuse prevention in the community; and
WHEREAS, Parents, educators, concerned citizens, and
public officials all play a vital role in protecting our children
and supporting families; through programs such as that of Promise
House's Fun Day for families, the public can be better informed
and encouraged to help in the prevention of child abuse; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend all
associated with Promise House, Incorporated, for their efforts
to prevent child abuse and neglect and recognize April 28, 2006,
as Child Abuse Prevention Day in Dallas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Promise House, Incorporated, as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
