SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 68
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Timothy Earl Long of Boy Scout Troop 3 in Houston for
achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young man joined the
elite corps of Eagles recently and was presented the coveted
Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and
WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only two
out of every 100 boys in the Boy Scout program attain the rank of
Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
promise, Tim advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second,
First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership
through planning, developing, and conducting a service project
that benefited his community; he is truly a shining example to
his fellow Scouts and the young people of Texas; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Tim has brought great
honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his
state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend
Timothy Earl Long on receiving this prestigious honor and
congratulate him on his outstanding achievement; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Eagle Scout Long as an expression of esteem from the
Texas Senate.
